• If your child is out of school, know that for every day out, they have an equal number of days to make up work per board policy.

    If they are sick, please share a physician's note with the Principal or Nurse to have the absence medically excused (dentist, well visits, or sick visits).

    If you are out for a religious holiday, please refer to the NJ Department of Education's list of excused absences for religious reasons.


    All other absences are considered UNEXCUSED and count towards the 10-day criterion under the Chronic Absentee formula. After 10 days, you will receive a notification that notes should be provided when/where possible. After 10 days, with no other information, the school must follow procedures for filing for truancy under Title 18A.
